Over to Cheslyn Rise at 6 am but the shearers did not arrive till about 10. Machine went wrong + work at a stand-still. Mr. Walker, a motor agent, called in + fixed things + machine ran smoothly till 3 pm when the vulcanite carbon brush holder was found to be broken + the shearers left, having done only 47 for the day. I fixed a board shield to prevent delicate parts of engine being damaged or broken by sheep kicking etc. Watered shrubs + plants round the house in evening. Lovely fine night.
