Broughton + Winiata started shearing my ewes at 8.50 am + got thro' the 131 by 3.35. I was disappointed with the wool - many fleeces being light, broken + log-stained. Mixed shorn ewes with others + drove them all back to far 42. Mother, Clifford + Miss J Bennett arrived by last Wgtn [Wellington] train - I drove Clifford home in gig after shopping in Levin - wet evening.
