Very hot day. Rode up to Sonoma - moved 21 of the 25 smaller steers on to Mill p[addock]. Spent day sowing the recent burns on the sides of Leighton, Trunk, Middle, Crescent Up + Lower Ravine + Punga Spurs. Two big faces still to be done. Maud finished painting the "still life" subject "After the Theatre" in splendid style - it is a most charming picture.
