Strong easterly wind with rain. Planed pickets for front gate fence. Maud started painting a "still life" subject called "After the Theatre :- lobster, oysters, lemon, loaf bread + beer." Afetr early lunch I rode up to Sonoma + brought the 25 steers in Mill p[addock] down to far 42 ready for the sale on Tuesday next.
