My 28th. Rode up to Sonoma on Silvermane - sledged a cwt [hendredweight] coil of plain wire half way up Trunk Spur for Top p[addock] north fence - + another ditto up to 100 ac[re] p. north fence. Ran out wires for latter + strained up by pulling down into dips - didn't use wire-strainer. This is the burned wire + stretched a good deal + may get very slack later. Also ran out barb wire but this was three chains short. Moved the 53 steers from 100 ac[re] to Top p. Rescued a ewe caught in a lawyer on Ohau Flat. Maud + I drove down to Mrs. Whitaker's to tea - afterwards several other people arrived + we spent the evening playing euchre + 500 - we had a very enjoyable time.
