Fine day. Rode up to Sonoma. Cut up logs in Ram p[addock] for sledging to foot of track up cliff at south end. This timber is to form a base to be covered with gravel from the cliff in order to widen the track when the Ram p. fence is moved further away from the encroaching river. Also made a dead wool drying rack in big shed + finished with some logging up in Mill p. Half-yearly report to Dalgety + Co:- Sheep:- 395 ewes @ 17/6 50 store ewes @ 14/6 Condition of sheep :- Breeding ewes in lamb - condition Good

Cattle:- 62 2yr steers @ 5/15/- Condition: Steers in good condition Leasehold:- 370 acres. Rent £150 quarterly Value of interest £450 Amt expended on improvements:- £55 by self + £55 by Lessor. Note: Fencing not [word double underlined] done yet, 15 Chns battens of East B[oun]d[ar]y. North fence 100 ac[re] p. 4 chns [chains] of hilltop at Top Main Wedge Spur, + Main Wedge Spur. Condition of property: Property greatly improved since last report. Large area scrubbed + well burned necessitating large expenditure on grass-seed. Prospects of coming season good
