Sat. June. 19.
Walked up to hilltop via Trunk Spur shedherding but could not see any of the 30 steers in Leighton p[addock]. Went along ridge to where I'm erecting east bdy [boundary] fence. Put in the first 21 posts starting where I left off fencing last

year. Also went on clearing the line. Showers of hail in morning + very cold wind during afternoon. Stopped work at 4.30 + went down via Main Spur to overlook stock. Met five large wild pigs half way down the spur + aided by Scott (my dog) + the axe I carried I managed to kill one. Near the Little Ravine I noticed a very lame ram + catching him found he had a broken leg. Managed to work him down to Mill p. in the moonlight - he will there get better feed + may recover. Home after dark.
