A marvellous day, not a cloud in sight from sunrise to sunset. Father, Andy ,Scott + I rode up to North Block to have another go at firing scrub on Stuckey's Side of Mill p[addock]. This time it went well though it is rather late in the season. After dinner rode over to 100 ac[re] p. + fired scrub (cut a year ago) on lower Foxtail Spur + also on south side of part of East Low Hill, + got a very good burn. Found a steer (a whitish red of £2.4.0 lot, taken into stock @ £3.15.0) dead on Ohau Flat, head under a punga + thus unable to get up. Mustered ewes + rams into Ram p. for the night. Spent evening making a new bed for my whare.
