Overview
Sat. Apr. 10.
Father, Andy, Scott, Clif + I rode up to North Block to fire rest of cut scrub on Mill p[addock]. While waiting for the dew to evaporate we started sowing terraces alongside Gladstone R[oa]d. Started firing about 11. am, commencing with the patch between the road + flood-gate, first sousing the tree which supports the latter to prevent it firing. The scrub did not burn well + after trying the bracken on terrace near Narby's boundary on Stuckey's Side, gave up the job + finished sowing terraces (except steep face) alongside Gladstone Road, while Andy + Clif logged up part of this "burn". At 2.45 we mustered the ewes + rams off Leighton p. (less 30 got through to South End) + I put them in Ram p. for tupping, staying at whare overnight.
