Andy + I rode up to North Block - moved 13 of the 14 £2.40 steers off Mill p[addock] to

Leighton p. after considerable difficulty. Plucked a dead ewe + moved 22 of the 30 £ 3-7-0 steers from south end to Mill p. to give them a lift as they have been very short. Home for dinner. Uncle Bert over to tea - wet night, soft warm rain. During evening service, at 7-45 we experienced a most prolonged shock of eathquake I've ever felt. Some of congregation started to rush out of doors. The building creaked a good deal + some people heard a rumbling.
