Anstice + I rode up to North Block + finished battening Ohau River fence. After dinner rode to top Leighton’s Spur + blocked access to “burns” to keep the ewes off. Then mustered 17 ewes off the “burn” – the grass has come up splendidly but is well eaten down by the 17 ewes. On way down logged up crest of Leighton’s Spur to improve track for horses. Heavy rain from south on way home. Father returned from Wellington by the last train.
