Good Friday. Maud + I spent most of the morning in the Shrubbery, in Clare's garden beside Koputaroa Stream + in Home Bush. I took several photos

of Maud in the garden, besdie stream + on suspension bridge. After dinner we all went up to the North Block, Father Mother + Clif[sic] in trap + the rest of us on horse-back - Maud on "Fanny", Clare on "Bobs", Agnes on "Taffy", Amy on "Kitty", Dora on "Dick" + self on trap-horse, "Dolly". On arrival at block the party inspected whares, stable + sawdust heap on old mill site. They all climbed to the top of the "Kopje" + Father pointed out boundaries of block. Took a photo of group on top of "Kopje" + one of them beside the best whare. I changed horses with Dora as "Dolly" refused to negotiate the rough country + Maud, Clare + I rode home via "West Low Hill", "Ohau Flat" + Ohau R[iver] gate - showed Maud details of block. A shower of rain caught us on way home. Took it easy in the evening - music etc in drawing-room. Maud played violin + Amy sang. Wet night.
