Overview
Mon. Apr. 6
Showery till 9.30 am - then it cleared + we decided to go up to North Bl[oc]k to sow hill-top "[bwn?]". Started sowing - Father, Gil + I while Jim + Anstice cut tracks - at 11.45. Had about an hour for dinner + did not finish job till 5.45 pm. Very rough work - bwm good on main ridge but an enormous number of criss-crossed logs, mostly birch, on the side spurs. We gave a liberal sowing of seed. By the time we got back to the horses at the top of "Leighton's spur" it was dark, but we struggled down + got home soon after 7. pm - tired but glad the hilltop sowing is over for this year. To-day[sic] Grange came to let us know that he wished to fell the rest of the bush on teh hilltop at once + starts in a day or so.
