Rode down to Levin sale - big yarding high prices + big reserves - people seem mad to get stock. I bid on a line of breeding ewes + got them passed in to

me at 15/3 but did not get them. Father bought 39 2 1/2 [symbol required] steers at £5. Father + I went + interviewed Mr Pike, the Manager Bank of N.Z. + made arrangements to open my acc.[ount] on Monday next. I purchased a cheque book. Very hot day (109° in sun) + close evening. Saw Mr Cornford during day + got a rebate of 2/- per head on the five old ewes in the lot purchased from him.
