Overview
Mon. Feb. 9.
Again all up river to cut scrub on North Block - finished widening cut belt on East Low Hill + after dinner cut a strip a chain wide from top
[page break]
of East Low Hill to the saddle at the foot of "Sky-line" spur, but did not get as far as we intended on acc[ount] of very heavy cutting - dense tall bracken, wineberry + lawyer. This is a fine piece of ground + when in grass should carry a lot of stock. Felt very bad all day - sharp pains in shoulders + stomach seemed as if tied up in knots - even walking painful but struggled through the day's work. Father received wool returns to-day:-
25 bales ewes @ 10d. per lb
15 " hoggarts [sic] @ 10d. " "
4 " lambs @ 10 1/2 d " "
3 " pieces (did not sell)
This morning Mother took Marjorie + Vivien up to Wanganui College. This is Vivien's first term
