Made a new gateway between 10 ac[re] p[addock] + the Gravel-pit p., a short-cut for carting hay to the shed. In afternoon Anstice + I re-hung + fixed gate leading from Terrace to sect[ion] 37. Northerly wind + bursts of rain. About 4.30pm the northerly increased to a gale with terrific downpour of rain – the storm lasted well into the night.
