Up at 4am – Anstice + I drove the 239 fat lambs (one got away yesterday) to railway station + trucked them – they go to the Gear Meat Co. Petone. Father + Mother went to Palmerston to buy a new trap – they got a rubber tired one at £57, less £15 (being second hand) + less £12 (price given for our own old trap which is to be accepted as part payment) – therefore actual price £30. Very wet afternoon. Rode to Levin to interview shearers but nothing can be done at present on acc of weather. Stayed in town for tea.
