Easter Monday. Very cold – light fall of snow on ranges. South wind all day. At 9.30 am

Cycled down to Bruce Road. Most of family out picnicking in various parts of the Horo[whenua Co[unty]. Maud stayed with - Mr Herd + Ralph also at home. Took two photos of the darling with violin + one of her in an armchair in drawing room. Another under apple tree with a book. Then one of Maud + self sitting on rug in orchard (shutter worked with string) + another of us having afternoon tea. Between the photos we took it easy + had a good time – she is just sweet + so nice to me. After dinner we walked up to the Papaitonga section + I took a photo of a high maize crop with Maud alongside. Cycled home at 4 pm – over to Uncle Bert’s to count sheep – no telegram so I do not truck them tomorrow after all. Developed plates in evening – all good. Clear moonlit night.
