Overview

Thurs Mar 13

A big day at the dipping – put through 1361.  Finished culling + marking last seasons UR lot of ewes.  Got in all the coming seaons “med” + “old” ewes + also the culls + dipped them = 405.  McKenzie dipped 528.  We dipped 189 of coming seasons UR ewes.  Morgan, McKenzie’s man, helped us a funny thing happened.  The yards were fearfully boggy on acc of continued wet – Jim struggling with a big ewe splashed all directions – Morgan said “Hold hard” + with his little finger delicately

detached a large + choice blob of mud from the end of his nose.  We had a great tussle with our own lots of ewes – very stubborn.  Uncle Bert dipped 239.  In evening I drove Clare + Dora down to a party at Mrs Cork’s – farewell party for JG Jamieson who is transferred to Waikanae – competitions, games etc.  Home at 1.10 am + bed at 1.40 am.
