Showery miserable day. Jim + I shepherded "UR" ewes, found another dead lamb + a rape lamp with "gid" which I killed for the house – though only in fair condition it was 32 lbs dressed. Worked at CK–Swamp + CK–Gower p[addock] fences. Drove down to 8 pm train to meet Mother + Father – related misfortunes + other news + got permission to go to Wgtn [Wellington] to see the HMS "New Zealand" – next Friday.
