A great day with us. Maud fell unwell + from 7.30 pains increased - rang up Dr. Bryson + Nurse Kelly. Latter ill with influenza + unable to attend. Miss Bowles most kindly took her place. Dr. arrived + the baby - a son- was born at 3.30pm. Maud

came through splendidly. Wired for Mrs. Herd. Wild excitement in Levin over Peace rumours.
