Collectors of bird skins

Significant early contributors to the bird skin collection included Sir Walter Buller, Henry Travers, Andreas Reischek and Dr W.R.B. Oliver. The major contributors to the collection by numbers of registered specimens were Fred Kinsky (1851 specimens), Sir Robert Falla (577 specimens), Dr Peter Harper (343), and Sir Charles Fleming (341).
