Collectors of bird eggs

The major contributors to the Te Papa egg collection have been Captain John Bollons (219 egg clutches), Count Frederick Graf von Kinsky (first Curator of Birds, Dominion Museum, 1963 - 1976; 202 clutches), Sir Robert Falla (135 clutches), and Don Merton (New Zealand Wildlife Service and then Department of Conservation; 128 clutches).
