Overview
Staff from the Te Papa's Fish team spend up to five weeks in the field each year. Field trips are a great opportunity to develop the collection either by filling in gaps from particular locations around New Zealand, or by targeting certain species for specific research programmes.
All of these collections are brought back to Te Papa where they are processed and registered into the collection.
