Overview
The Te Papa collections include several thousand lots of other marine and terrestrial invertebrates, including sponges, corals, anemones, segmented worms, flatworms, peripatus and echinoderms. These specimens have been collected as by-catch from commercial fisheries as well as specimens brought into the museum for identification. Although Te Papa scientists do not currently have active research projects in these areas, the collections are maintained and are available to external researchers.
