Overview
Te Papa holds 17 specimens of fossil plants collected from the Paringa River area, south Westland. These were collected by Mr J. Bolitho in the 1930s. They haven't been described or identified yet but the estimated age is 83 to 87 million years old (probably Butler formation, Cretaceous, Piripauan).
