Lovely fine day. Ticked off milking, +c, + drove Maud + children out to Hokio Beach + spent a few hours under lee of foredune just north of Hokio mouth. 1/4pl[ate]. photo (1) Ripplemarks + coarse lamination in blown sand in dune at junction of Beach Road + [missing word] Road. 1/2pl. (2) Hokio township from high dune looking seaward. 1/4pl. (3) + (4) Nancy + Clyde with sandcastles. 1/4pl. (5) + (6) Nancy + Clyde dragging branch on wet sand. 1/4pl. (7) Clyde on wet sand, “I’m sinking, Dad.” 1/2pl. (8) + (9) Nancy on edge sea + in surf, nude. Had a very pleasant time + children enjoyed themselves. I make a sketch of Kapiti Id [Island] + Mainland as seen from Hokis
