Road up to Sonoma early – moved most of ewes + lambs from Leighton to Mill p[addock]. Found break in east bdy [boundary] fence + 10 steers missing. Moved 10 steers from Leighton p to 100 ac[re] p. Saw the 2 steers in Ram p + the 8 in Top p. Fixed a rough flood-gate under Makahika Bridge to keep stock getting out on to road – river lowest I've ever seen it. In [missing word/s?]

I drove Maud, Nancy + Clyde down to Horowhenua A + P show. ¼ pl[ate] photos (1) crowd on lawn from grandstand (2) Maud + children on lawn. (3) the sideshows showing Maud + children. Met Len Lancaster.
