Cycled to Levin early, Maud, Gertie + children following in gig. Met Mr Lancaster + he + I interviewed Mr D Stuart re taking alternative route via Dundas + Ngapuketarua for the Tararua trip for our party, the two parties to meet near the latter peak – he agreed to this. We then went on to Lake Horowhenua to picnic. After lunch (1/4pl[ate] photo (1) of group lunching) I cycled back to Levin stock sale. Remarkable rise in prices of sheep fat ewes settling at 16/, fat lambs at 22/6 + 18/, store lambs up to 10/6. Returned to Lake – ¼pl photos (3) + (4) of paddock
