Tues. Mar. 1.
Our last day + took it easy. ¼ pl[ate] photo (66) of a weka in front of our house + one (67) of Mr. Bennett. After lunch packed swags ready for departure. Mr. + Mrs. Bennett saw us off, ½ pl. photo (68). Watson Bro[ther]s arrived with launch at 2 pm ¼ pl. (69) about to go on board launch – sea rather choppy on way over + rather exhilerating [sic]. ¼ pl. (70) landing on Waikanae Beach. Mr. Meek, bro[ther]-in-law of Watson drove us back to rly stn [railway station] – visited at vinery + bought grapes – left by 6.10 pm train – drizzly rain on arrival at Levin – Mrs. Lancaster, Arny[?] + Miss Groves to meet us – they very kindly drove me to Woodside in car.
