Overview
Te Papa Research Scientists are studying forget-me-nots (Myosotis, Boraginaceae) to produce a taxonomic revision of all native New Zealand species of the genus, as well as a new eFlora treatment (www.nzflora.info).
Part of this research includes fieldwork. This involves going to locations where Myosotis species have been recorded previously. If the population is big enough, scientists collect one herbarium specimen and leaf samples for DNA research to help answer key research questions.
The below narratives, categorised by year, feature images of species found on various field trips.
