Overview
The town of Razgrad is located on the Beli Lom River in northeastern Bulgaria. It was a large Roman settlement, probably fortified at the time of the invasions of the Goths around 250 CE. It was occupied by the Turks from the 15th to the 19th century. Today it is a manufacturing center and the nation's largest producer of antibiotics. Its historic structures include the remnants of the roman fortress and the Ibrahim Pasa Mosque, built in 1614. The 2003 estimated population was 38,800.
