Overview
Málaga, the port city in the provice of Málaga is located beside a wide bay of the Mediterranean sea and the mouth of the Guadalmedina River. The Phoenicians established the city in the 12th century BCE and was later captured by the Romans, followed by the Visigoths and then conquered by Moors in 711. Christians gained control of the city in 1487. Málaga primarily exports iron ore, dried fruit, almonds, olive oil, oranges, lemons, and olives. It is the birthplace of Pablo Picasso.
