Central America

Within the logic of TGN, it comprises the southern part of the continent of North and Central America, connecting North America (in southern Mexico) to South America (at Colombia); within the region are the countries of Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Panama (Panaman is sometimes considered as part of South America). It makes up most of the tapering isthmus that separates the Pacific Ocean from the Caribbean Sea. Central America's many mountains link the western North American system with the Andes.
