Plan of the City of Britannia in Lambton Harbour, Port Nicholson, New Zealand

This original hand drawn and coloured plan is formally titled 'Plan of the City of Britannia in Lambton Harbour, Port Nicholson, New Zealand, The Principle  [sic] Settlement of The New Zealand Company'. The plan is annotated with Company and church reserves, sections allocated, some named roads and key sites.  At present it is not known how the Museum acquired the plan. Due to the extremely fragile nature of the plan it was professionally conserved during 1996 to prevent further fracturing to the original sheet.
