Overview
Ms Betty McFadgen, as the National Museum's Head of Cultural Heritage, was intimately involved in the development and organisation of The Taonga exhibition which was toured to Australia.
These files were found to be loosely arranged and contain correspondence, minutes of exhibition related meetings, discussions with tribes and Iwi, draft lists of objects sent, proposed labels, etc.
A small amount of Te Maori related material is included in the earliest file.
While there is some duplication of content likely between these files and those maintained by other staff, given the different roles of each individual, it has been decided to retain this material.
