Overview
Group portrait of a young European couple and several Cook Islander children possed around a massive tree with a seamed trunk and tortuous roots, probably a banyan tree, in a forest clearing. The boy to the right is carrying bananas, a machete and a hat on a pole over his shoulder. The other three children are younger and are posed within the tree's roots. The European man has a moustache and straw boater hat, and stands behind the woman who is wearing a striped dress and has her hat on her knee.
