This series consists of the main file classification system of the National Museum.

Files include Board of Trustees minutes and correspondence, legislation, staff and establishment issues, office organisation, finance and financial policy, copyright issues, delegations of authority, accounting, accommodation and building, library services, public relations and education services, correspondence with other Museums and organisations, purchases, deposits, bequests and loans of items, exhibitions and displays, expeditions, special projects and research reports.
