Notebook

John Drummond was employed by W.H. Field (MP) apparently as a surveyor's assistant, a storekeeper (?), negotiator and (possibly) as a native interpreter (translator). This notebook contains a variety of material including records of conversations with Maori and notes regarding land dealings in the Waikome (?) area. Also included are notes relating to Maori history, traditions, recipes, remedies etc and some fragments of an autobiography.
