Figure 1.
THELYMITRA IXIOIDES. (Smith.) Blooms in the beginning of October. It occurs throughout South-east Australia, and is one of the numerous terrestrial Orchids, of which Dr. Mueller says there are in all about "120 known from Australia.' Tubers of many kinds have been sent to several places in the Melbourne Botanical Gardens. The natives use the tubers of all for food.

THEKYMITRA ARISTATA. (Lindley.) Blooms at the beginning of October. It is found all over the extra- tropical Australia. These Orchids grow on long stalks, and very very much in tint.

BURCHARDIA UMBELLATA. (R. Brown.) Blooms in September. It ranges from West Australia to New South Wales, and grows luxuriantly in the grass with other spring flowers.

STYPANDRA CAESPITOSA. (R. Brown.) Blooms in the middle of November. It is not uncommon on healthy ground, and is found in New South Wales and Tasmania.

STYPANDRA UMBELLATA. (R. Brown.) Blooms in the beginning of October. Stypandra glauca with a blue flower is rare in Australia Felix.
