Overview

This photograph of Fidel’s Café in Wellington shows some of the safety measures in place while New Zealand was at Covid-19 Alert Level 3. At Alert Level 3 restaurants were allowed to open for drive thru, contactless takeaway pick-ups and deliveries, but could not have patrons dining in. There is a table blocking the front entrance to Fidel’s which acts as a takeaway collection station, ensuring a contactless pick-up.

The photograph is one of many scenes captured by Te Papa photographers who took their cameras with them when they went on local walks during lockdown.
