Overview

This photograph of 1154 restaurant in Wellington shows some of the safety measures in place while New Zealand was at Covid-19 Alert Level 3. At Alert Level 3 restaurants were allowed to open for drive thru, contactless takeaway pick-ups and deliveries, but could not have patrons dining in. The sign at the entrance to the restaurant instructs customers to wait behind the line, keep a safe social distance, and listen for their name. When called they could collect their order from a table just inside the front door, ensuring contactless pickup.

The photograph is one of many scenes captured by Te Papa photographers who took their cameras with them when they went on local walks during lockdown.
