Overview

This photograph album was compiled by Johnny Croskery (1941-2012) and includes photographs of him as a drag queen performer and with iconic transsexual Carmen Rupe at balls and parties in the 1960s and 70s.

Croskery was active as a drag queen from the 1960s. He performed at Carmen's International Coffee Lounge on Vivian Street, Wellington, in the late 1960s, and with drag artist Toni Rogét (Frank Lund), in the cabaret act 'Frankie and Johnny' at Carmen's Balcony on Victoria Street in the 1970s.
