Overview
The Winter Warmer Pack is part of the New Zealand Red Cross outreach programme in Christchurch. It was developed when early snowfall hit Christchurch in June 2012.
Several households were still living without basic amenities since the devastating earthquake of 22 February 2011. The Winter Warmer Pack includes practical items to help people out: beanie and gloves, milo and soup, thermos mug, hot water bottle, Red Cross fleece blanket, wind-up torch radio, and most popular of all, a 'fleecy snuggle sack'.
The first issue of Winter Warmer Packs was 500. They were so popular that 4000 were made for the second issue. This particular example was the last one left, and was used for training purposes by the Red Cross.
