The World Design Conference Organization; creating agency; 1960; Japan
Overview
New Zealand potter Helen Mason collected this programme when she attended the first World Design Conference (WoDeCo), held in Tokyo, Japan, 11-16 May 1960.
The conference was supported by the Japanese Government, and brought together Japanese designers, architects and industrial designers with their counterparts from Europe and the United States to discuss the theme 'Total Image for the 20th Century'.
To Helen Mason, Japan was also a 'potterly Mecca', and her trip included meeting local potters.
