The Academy of Elegance Archive documents the life of a successful and well known career woman, Jill Bussell. It provides an insight into the business of training young women (and men) in grooming, deportment and modelling, over a 20 year period, from 1964 through to the 'dress for success' movement of the 1980s.
The photographs document Jill Bussell's social life in Wellington, as well as her changing personal image and wardrobe.
