Overview
These art-nouveau candlesticks were the height of fashion when they were imported into New Zealand in 1909. They were given as a wedding present to John and Hannah Jacobs in Dunedin that same year.
Walter eventually purchased them from the couple’s granddaughter, Alma Foster – a dealer and friend who knew he’d appreciate them as much as her grandmother had.
