Overview
These tickets were purchased for the play 'Mates and Lovers' presented by Downstage during the the 2nd Asia Pacific Outgames, held in Wellington from 12 to 19 March 2011. The play was based on the award winning book by Chris Brickell - Mates Lovers: A History of Gay New Zealand - which won the Best First Book Award for Non-Fiction at the Montana New Zealand Book Awards, 2009.
Outgames was the biggest festival of LGBTI (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex) sport and cultural events ever held in New Zealand. Over 1300 participants from 26 countries competed in 16 sporting competitions. Taking place alongside the sporting events was an arts and culture festival and a human rights conference.
