Overview
The Christchurch based firm van Roli was established by Robertus van Roosmalen and Gijs Linterman in the early 1950s. Both men had trainedin women's tailoring in Amsterdam, andemigrated to New Zealand in the 1950s with the agreement that they wouldstart a business together.
Mark van Roosmalen, van Roosmalen's son, carried on the family tradition of tailoring. He turned his skills to menswear, and established a made-to-order business in Christchurch.
