Overview
One-handed weapon approximately the same length as the mere and patu. Of triangular or rectangular cross-section. Slightly convex sides. Often beautifully finished, with the finest of intricately carved surface designs. The patuki usually had a small hole in the handle for a wrist-cord. Usually made from wood, though whalebone examples do exist
